Though the final episode already aired in February, producers confirmed that the show will wrap with a two-hour finale in September as a “send off,” and will include two members from the original cast, William Petersen and Marg Helgenberger.

The decision comes in light of the series being moved from a prime time Wednesday slot to a Sunday one, and was cut from a planned 22 episodes to just 18.

“CSI” inspired several spinoffs during its time on air, including “CSI: Miami” and “CSI: New York.” Ted Danson, the current lead of “CSI,” will be in another spinoff with Patricia Arquette, called “CSI: Cyber.” (RELATED: American Idol Canceled)
