Tom Hardy is the star of “Mad Max: Fury Road,” and though he now roams red carpets and signs autographs ahead of the post-apocalyptic film’s release, he once had a drug addiction so desperate that he would have sold his own mother for a crack rock, he says.

In a new interview, Hardy talks about his desperate addiction.
“I was a shameful suburban statistic. I was told very clearly, ‘you go down that road, Tom, you won’t come back. That’s it. All you need to know,” Hardy said.
