CNN has found a new hire from the video desk of the New York Times. It’s Ben Werschkul, a senior producer who most recently ran the news video desk. At CNN he’ll also be a senior producer. He will run the digital video team.

I’m delighted to announce that Ben Werschkul will join us as the senior producer overseeing our fabulous digital video team.
Ben comes to CNN from The New York Times, where he is currently the senior producer who runs the news video desk. He brings a passion for political coverage and extensive experience as a field/package producer covering, among other things, both the 2008 and 2012 campaigns.
At CNN, he will be responsible for the look and feel of our signature video franchises and for making sure we are serving up the smartest, sharpest and coolest digital video news offerings each day.
He starts in the DC bureau on June 15. Please join me in welcoming Ben to CNN.
