Hillary Clinton may be making another appearance in Iowa, but could it be Martin O’Malley that’s revving up the far-left portion of the Democratic base in the Hawkeye State?

Appearing on “With All Due Respect” Monday, O. Kay Henderson, the news director for Radio Iowa, said that O’Malley is getting voters “really energized” at campaign events throughout the state in his attempt to snag voters among the Elizabeth Warren wing of the Democratic Party. Henderson made the remark to Bloomberg hosts Mark Halperin and John Heilemann.

MARK HALPERIN: Hillary Clinton got a lot of votes in 2008, but she finished third because two other guys got a lot more votes. People didn’t give her credit for running a good campaign last time. I don’t think she would say she would ran a particularly good campaign. The national media doesn’t think she’s running a good campaign this time, including in Iowa. Iowans you talk to, do they think she is running a good campaign?

O. KAY HENDERSON: There is a real restive part of the Democratic Party who wants this vigorous debate. There are folks out there that want Elizabeth Warren to enter the race. People have been really energized by the Martin O’Malley rallies that he has held around the state. She is in Cerro Gordo County today, and that is a caucus she won. Tomorrow she is going to a place where Obama won by 43%. So she has got to go to those places and connect with people who didn’t have a connection with her eight years ago.
