Louis C.K. hosted “Saturday Night Live’s” season finale, and the comedian is being called “disgusting” and his opening monologue “cringe-inducing” after he joked about the mentality of child molesters, who he said were “tenacious.”

“It’s so crazy because when you consider the risk in being a child molester, speaking not of even the damage you’re doing, but the risk,” C.K. said after he brought up a story about a pedophile that lived in his neighborhood growing up.

“There is no worse life available to a human than being a caught child molester. And yet they still do it. Which you could only really surmise, that it must be really good.”

The audience groaned.

“From their point of view! Not ours,” he said. “But from their point of view it must be amazing for them to risk so much.”

At the end of his monologue, C.K. said this would “probably” be his last show. Some on Twitter were hopeful for the same.
