The panel of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” agreed that Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton was making a good strategic decision in refusing to answer questions from the press, with host Joe Scarborough saying her campaign would be “over in a week” if she did.

“I certainly don’t fault the political strategists, Mike,” he said to political commentator Mike Barnicle. “Because she has too many tough questions to answer right now, and if she got out there on the press trail and started trying to answer these question, her campaign would be over in a week.” (VIDEO: MSNBC Host: Bill Clinton Was ‘Defensive,’ ‘Lashing Out’ In NBC Interview)

Barncile agreed, saying, “If you’re advising Hillary Clinton, and you knock on the door in the morning, and you say, ‘Good morning, Mrs. Clinton. We have a few questions that the press is demanding you answer today; the e-mails, the Foundation money, Benghazi, your speech money. Should we schedule a press conference today?'”

“She’s going to look at the aide and say, ‘Why?'” he said. “There is no good answer to why. There’s no good answers, there’s no good reason to.”

“That would be the aide’s last morning working for Hillary Clinton,” Scarborough said. “Have prepared text, have your phony town hall meetings with phony people and lobbyists. … They don’t have to talk to the press for a year.”
