B.B. King died in mid-May at age 89 due to a series of mini-strokes attributed to his type 2 diabetes, but now his daughters are alleging that the blues singer’s business manager murdered their father.

Patty King and Karen Williams made the allegations in identical affidavits filed over the holiday weekend that LaVerne Toney poisoned King.

“I believe my father was poisoned and that he was administered foreign substances to induce his premature death,” they said in their affidavits.  “I believe my father was murdered.” (RELATED: B.B. King Dies At 89)

The two allege that Toney gave King medication to induce diabetic shock, and kept all family members away from him in the days leading up to his death. Earlier in 2015, the two daughters accused Toney of elder abuse and neglect, but the case was thrown out of court because there wasn’t sufficient evidence.

Toney is named in King’s will as executor of his estate, and the attorney for the estate, Brent Bryson, called the daughters’ claims “ridiculous.”

King had been in hospice since being hospitalized in April. The coroner ruled that he had died from multi-infarct dementia, which was caused by a series of small strokes which that were because of his diabetes. (RELATED: B.B. King Rushed To The Hospital)

Results from an autopsy done over the weekend should be in within the next eight weeks. Police said there is no active homicide investigation, according to the Associated Press.
