“Meet The Press” moderator Chuck Todd called Hillary Clinton out Friday, one day before her campaign relaunch, for her wavering over “a whole series of issues” over the past decade, dating back to her time in the Senate.

After offering up criticism of President Obama’s handling of a potential trade deal, Todd turned his focus to Clinton, telling MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell Clinton has “flipped” on a multitude of issues.

“By the way, we’re transitioning to Hillary Clinton — somebody who was for these trade agreements before she became a candidate, and now is trying to stay neutral,” Todd told Mitchell. “Sort of trying to carve out territory like Nancy Pelosi. I’ll be curious to see what happens today if it has any impact on what she might say in her speech tomorrow.”

“There’s a bunch of things I’m curious about. Number One is this is the first time she’s ever attempted to answer the ‘why’ question: Why does she want to be president? She never did it in ’07 and ’08, and I think it came back to haunt her,” Todd said.

“The second thing is how does — she has made a huge pivot to the left. She has flipped on a whole series of issues if you look at her over actually a 10-year span,” Todd explained. “All the flips toward the progressive side of the aisle. How does she convince Democrats that these are changes of conviction, not changes of convenience? I think that’s a challenge for her.”

Clinton is set to make her long-awaited campaign address Saturday at Roosevelt Island in New York. The speech comes two months after she formally announced her presidential bid.
