While discussing James Boulware’s attack on police headquarters in Dallas, Texas, in which he fired indiscriminately into the building and was also armed with explosives, CNN anchor Fredricka Whitfield made a major gaffe.

Whitfield, while speaking with CNN legal analyst Philip Holloway as the situation was ending, said of Boulware’s actions, “It was very courageous and brave, if not crazy as well, to open fire on the police headquarters, and now you have this scene, this standoff. So you believe these are the hallmarks of more than one person’s involvement?”

Holloway appears to have missed the inadvertent praise of the attempted cop killer’s actions, as he did not make any reference to it in his answer.

CNN’s media reporter Brian Stelter told viewers on “Reliable Sources” Sunday morning that Whitfield will apologize for her poor choice of words when she takes to the airwaves Sunday afternoon.
