Ann Coulter says the vigilance of The Drudge Report is one of the only things preventing a mass amnesty.

In an extensive interview with The Daily Caller Tuesday, the author of “¡Adios, America!” credited Matt Drudge with slowing efforts to grant illegal immigrants a quick route to U.S. citizenship.

In her book, Coulter writes about the broad coalition of stakeholders — including big business, Democrats, and most of the press — who want to give illegal immigrants some form of legal status.

But the American public does not stand with them, Coulter says.

“The American people are totally on the Mickey Kaus, Ann Coulter, and Matt Drudge side,” Coulter said.

“I’m just terrified,” Coulter added, “If Matt Drudge ever goes on vacation, they’re going to pass amnesty in the dead of night.”

“God bless Steve King and Jeff Sessions, but they’re not being invited on ‘Meet The Press’ to give their opinions on this. It was the American people who have shut down proposed amnesties three times in the last decade. Three times. And that was through a few bloggers, a few radio hosts, and the blessed Matt Drudge.”

“With amnesty, [the country] will be finished in five years, ten years,” the conservative columnist predicted, “that’s your time horizon, and then the whole country is California and you never get elected again.”
