A Little League team in Mississippi experienced a huge tragedy after one of their teammates died leaving a game last Saturday.
Lane Rogers was walking off the field after a storm delay when a tree branch snapped and struck him.
The day of the 10-year-old’s funeral, hundreds of Little Leaguers gathered on the streets to pay tribute to him, Fox 13 Memphis reports. They came from other counties in Mississippi, and some even traveled from Tennessee. All wore their jerseys and took off their hats as the funeral procession drove by.
“Every single little boy took his hat off as a way to pay respect,” a Fox 13 reporter said.
