Bill Cosby’s lawyers asked a federal judge to throw out a defamation suit against the comedian on Monday.
Three women filed the lawsuit in January against the 77-year-old — who they say sexually assaulted them decades ago — because they say he and his lawyers publicly branded them as liars.

The lawyers say their comments are free speech, and therefore protected by the First Amendment.
