Last May, Kim Kardashian married Kanye West on a rooftop in Italy, but far more newsworthy was the fact that Will Smith’s 16-year-old son wore a white Batman suit to her wedding.
Now, in an interview with GQ, he finally explains why he wore it, and then wore it again to prom.

“I wore the Batman suit to heighten my experience at the wedding and prom which was fun,” Smith said. “But also at the wedding I felt as though I needed to protect everyone there and needed to have the proper gear to do so.”
“I’m just expressing how I feel inside, which is really no particular way because everyday it changes how I feel about the world and myself, but I like wearing super drapey things so I can feel as though I’m a super hero, but don’t have to necessarily wear super hero costumes everyday.”
