Dylann Roof entered the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in South Carolina on June 17, and after about an hour of Bible study, he shot nine people to death.

Because photos surfaced of Roof brandishing a Confederate flag, debate has raged over whether or not the flag should be flown on state grounds or sold on store shelves.
