As power-worshipping authoritarians love to remind us, Obamacare is the law of the land. Okay, then. Let’s watch the people who forced this law on us as they worm their way out of following it themselves.
A House Republican on Thursday proposed forcing the Supreme Court justices and their staff to enroll in ObamaCare.
Rep. Brian Babin (R-Texas) said that his SCOTUScare Act would make all nine justices and their employees join the national healthcare law’s exchanges…
Babin’s potential legislation would only let the federal government provide healthcare to the Supreme Court and its staff via ObamaCare exchanges.
“By eliminating their exemption from ObamaCare, they will see firsthand what the American people are forced to live with,” he added.
If you’re in favor of Obamacare, you must be in favor of this bill. You must be in favor of holding everyone — everyone — to the same law.
If not, why not?
I don’t expect that the powerful will ever be forced to abide by their own rules. That’s not how it works. But it’ll be instructive to listen to their excuses and watch their actions as they flout the law of the land.
They punched a hole in the boat, believing they’ll be the last ones to drown. As they scrabble over each other to stay above water, they’ll show us who they really are. Hey, if we’re going to watch the end of America, we might as well have a few laughs.
