A North Carolina convict was discovered missing from his prison unit Saturday morning.

Kristopher McNeil, 29, was serving a 14-year sentence for second-degree murder, and was due for a 2018 release, reports WRAL.

Police believe he scaled a fence at the Brown Creek Correctional Institution’s minimum unit.

The prison is located in Polkton, situated between Fayetteville and Charlotte.

Authorities are asking any citizens with information of McNeil’s whereabouts to come forward and call local law enforcement.

There are currently 220 prison escapees on the loose throughout the nation. (RELATED: Escaped New York Prisoner Fatally Shot)
