What happens when a fake Native American teams up with a genuine socialist to take over the White House? We might just find out!
Massachusetts U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren isn’t ruling out joining ultra-liberal Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders on the campaign trail in New Hampshire, saying she’s not surprised at all that the Vermont senator is surging in the polls and drawing enthusiastic Granite State audiences.
“Bernie’s out talking about the issues that the American people want to hear about,” Warren, who hasn’t endorsed anyone in the Democratic primary yet, told the Herald yesterday.
But don’t get too excited. She’s hedging her bets:
Asked if Sanders can actually win, Warren sidestepped, saying, “Bernie is there on the issues. That’s what matters to a lot of people.”
Wait. Is Elizabeth Warren saying Hillary Clinton doesn’t care about the issues? That’s ridiculous. Just ask Hillary about any of the issues of the day, and she’ll tell you whatever she thinks will get her elected. Even if it’s completely different than what she said yesterday. That’s how much she cares! (That is, if you can get her to answer a question from a reporter in the first place, which she doesn’t have time to do because she’s running for president.)
But hey, that’s what political campaigns are all about. The voters need to get a sense of the candidates, find out what they’re all about, before they decide how they’re going to vote against the Republican.
If Warren plays her cards right, she might just find herself on the ticket. We should be so lucky.
