NBC’s Lester Holt Sprints Out Of The Gate At The Top Of The Pack

NBC “Nightly News” anchor Lester Holt started his first official week on the job with a bang, leaving all the mayhem involving Brian Williams in the dust.

NBC News issued a release today with a mess of numbers indicating that Holt has so far delivered “across-the-board” wins for the network. The network’s publicity department said he was solidly number 1 in all categories.

“NBC Broadcast Attracts Biggest Audience in Over 2 Months and Widest Lead Over ABC in 3 Months,” a subhed blares.

In total viewers, “Nightly News” has been number 1 for six out of the last nine weeks. Compared to ABC and CBS, NBC reports that the program fared its best in the coveted 25-54 age group in a three-month time frame. ABC and CBS, meanwhile, have declined.
