Amanda Peterson has died. She was 43.

The star of the 1987 film “Can’t Buy Me Love” was discovered dead at her Colorado home Monday after her father hadn’t heard from her for a few days.

He said there is no official cause of death, but noted that the star had “some illness and a sleep apnea problem that may have contributed.”

Peterson was famous for playing Cindy Mancini alongside Patrick Dempsey in the movie, but she retired from Hollywood in the early 1990s and had been working as a writer in Colorado for several years.
