New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie said Monday that Sen. Rand Paul should sit before Congressional hearings if the U.S. is hit with a terror attack following his opposition to the renewal of the Patriot Act.

During his first interview with the “Morning Joe” crew post-Bridgegate, Christie doubled down on recent comments about the Kentucky senator, calling him “disgraceful” for fundraising off his anti-Patriot Act push. Christie added that Paul should be grilled by Congress in the event of such an attack, even before the director’s of the CIA and FBI. JOE SCARBOROUGH: Quick, easy question. How do we defeat ISIS?

CHRIS CHRISTIE: Arm our allies. Train them. and it’s their fight. Let them fight it over there with our support, our help, our arms and our training. If we do that, I think that’s a much better way to go about this than to send American troops back over there.

NICOLLE WALLACE: You said that’s the thing people ask you about the most?

CHRISTIE: In town hall meetings, people are really worried about ISIS, they’re really worried about the threat of terrorism, and that’s why what Rand Paul has done to make this country weaker and more vulnerable is a terrible thing. And for him to raise money off, it’s disgraceful. It’s disgraceful. And as the only guy who used the Patriot Act in this race as a former prosecutor, what he’s done is — we’re going to look back on this. Listen this morning. We’re going to look back on this and he should be in front of hearings, in front of Congress, if there’s another attack. Not the director of the FBI or the director of the CIA.
