Hillary For America communications director Jennifer Palmieri argued Monday that “issues” raised by opponents of Hillary Clinton are simply the “price of admission” voters must accept.

Appearing on “Morning Joe,” Palmieri told panelist Nicolle Wallace that while issues such as the private email server and her dealings with the press have hurt her trustworthy numbers, Clinton is “durable.” Palmieri did concede, however, that the server and press interactions have not been “helpful” thus far in her campaign.

The former Obama White House communications director’s comments came after the campaign roped off reporters while Clinton walked in a 4th of July parade Saturday in New Hampshire.

“Do you guys worry about the hits she took to her trustworthy numbers after day after day, week after week about the story about the email server and what not?” Wallace asked Palmieri. “And I’m not asking about any single story, but all of those together, the “Clinton Cash” book coming out, the email server, the press access being limited. how do you, sort of — in the office at night, combat that?”

“So none of this is helpful,” Palmieri admitted. “But I think what we, you know — I think what we know is Hillary Clinton is durable, and we think that there is, you know, we’ll have to continue to work really hard, and she will work really hard to show the voters, convince voters that they are the person that — she is the person that they can put their faith in that will fight for them every day, that she will get the job done.”

Wallace then pressed the campaign’s communications director if Clinton should turn over her private server.

“We don’t think we have to do that. I worked for President Clinton for eight years. I’ve been in politics for a long time. I understand what comes with presidential campaign and particularly comes with presidential campaign with a candidate that’s been around in public service as long as she has. And there’s a lot of — she’s got great experience,” Palmieri said. “But with that comes, you know, comes a lot of issues that they can raise.”

“Baggage?” Wallace asked.

“I wouldn’t say baggage. It’s the price of admission,” Palmieri said. “It’s all right. but she is durable.”
