One thing is for certain at this early stage of the 2016 GOP presidential primary: Charles Krauthammer is sick and tired of the chatter surrounding Donald Trump.
Appearing on “Special Report” Wednesday night, Krauthammer told host Bret Baier that the continued talk about the real estate mogul is “a complete waste of time,” adding further that he believes “we’ve spent enough time on Donald Trump.”
The comments came hours after Trump took shots at the conservative commentator in an interview with NBC. Trump called Krauthammer “overrated” while continuing to pile on other conservative writers (George Will, Jonah Goldberg) who continue to critique him.
“I really think that we’ve spent enough time on Donald Trump, which is exactly what the problem is. It’s a catch-22,” Krauthammer said. “If you want to ignore him — if you don’t ignore him you end up in exactly what he wants: a conversation about him.”
“It’s a complete waste of time,” he continued. “The idea that these issues were not raised, immigration is not an issue, until Trump came along is preposterous.”
