Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) and Donald Trump have been embroiled in a funny feud for the past few days. Graham called Trump a “jackass” for his views on Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) being a war hero.
But now Graham is calling Trump a liar.
“He’s just making that story up like he makes a lot of things up,” Graham said Wednesday afternoon on CNN. “The idea that I need his help to get on Fox News will not withstand scrutiny.”
Graham was initially irritated with Trump because he insulted his friend John McCain.
“He is a war hero because he was captured,” Trump said of McCain. “I like people that weren’t captured, ok? I hate to tell you.”
Trump replied to Graham’s “jackass” remark by going to the senator’s home state of South Carolina and revealing the senator’s private cell number to the crowd. He also told his audience that Graham once phoned him to request that he put in a good word for him to Fox News.
What does Graham really think of Trump?
“I think Donald Trump is a political car wreck. People slow down to look at the wreck but they eventually move on… He will fade over time… There is no way he can win a national election as a Republican or any other title because America is a good place… We appreciate people like John McCain. We don’t think they’re losers because they got captured.”
The Mirror can hardly wait for Trump’s response.
