Gwyneth Paltrow became synonymous with the phrase “conscious uncoupling” after that was the title of her online letter revealing she was separating from Coldplay frontman Chris Martin in March of last year.

Now the actress is admitting the phrase was the work of someone else.

In a new interview with Fast Company, Paltrow said it was her editor who made it up.

“When I announced that I was separating on the website, [Loehnen] titled the piece ‘Conscious Uncoupling’ and I had no idea.” (RELATED: Gwyneth Paltrow Tries Living On Food Stamps. What She Bought For $29 Is Ridiculous)

“When something like that happens, I think everybody is like, ‘Oh, shit.’ I just tell them that I think we are creating interesting discussions.”

Conscious uncoupling, a method created by family therapist Katherine Thomas, is a five-week program where both sides “release the trauma of a breakup, reclaim your power and reinvent your life.” (RELATED: Gwyneth Paltrow’s Dress Was Consciously Uncoupling From Her Body Last Night)
