Swift covers the September issue of Vanity Fair, and in her interview the 25-year-old talked about her career as a big picture.

“If you look at Oprah, she’s made so many people happy over the years,” Swift said. “She’s made so much money, but she’s given so much of it away.”

“Same thing with Angelina Jolie. She’s been so productive, but she’s used that position to better other people’s lives, and I think that’s where I’d want to be.” (RELATED: Taylor Swift Apologizes After Nicki Minaj Blames Nomination Snub On Being Black)

In her interview Swift also talked about finally becoming friends with Kanye West after he famously interrupted her while she was accepting her award for Best Female Video on stage at the Video Music Awards. (VIDEO: Kanye West Just Interrupted Someone Receiving A Grammy Again)

“I feel like I wasn’t ready to be friends with [West] until I felt like he had some sort of respect for me, and he wasn’t ready to be friends with me until he had some sort of respect for me—so it was the same issue, and we both reached the same place at the same time,” the singer said.

“I became friends with Jay Z, and I think it was important, for Jay Z, for Kanye and I to get along. And then Kanye and I both reached a place where he would say really nice things about my music and what I’ve accomplished, and I could ask him how his kid’s doing.” (PHOTOS: Taylor Swift Brings Transgender Model Onstage With Her At Concert)
