While speaking to students at American University on Wednesday, President Barack Obama defended the proposed Iranian Nuclear Deal by comparing the Republican Party to Iranian hardliners that chant “Death to America!”
OBAMA: It is incendiary. We do take it seriously, but super powers should not act impulsively in response taunts, or even provocations that can be addressed short of war. Just because Iranian hardliners chant “Death to America!” does not mean that’s what all Iranians believe. In fact, it’s those hardliners who are most comfortable with the status quo. It’s those hardliners who are chanting “Death to America!” who are most opposed to the deal. They are making common cause with the Republican Caucus.
