Donald Trump said Thursday Hillary Clinton had no choice but to attend his wedding — because he gave her money.
“With Hillary Clinton?” Trump said in the Republican presidential primary debate, referring to how he’s benefitted from campaign donations. “I said be at my wedding, and she came to my wedding.” (RELATED: Will The Clinton Foundation Return Donald Trump’s $100K Donation?)
“You know why?” he continued. “She had no choice, because I gave.”
Bill and Hillary did attend his 2005 wedding, although a spokeswoman for Hillary told The New York Times in response that she “would have gone anyway.”
