During a round-table discussion on CNN’s Sunday broadcast of “State of the Union,” former Democratic governor Brian Schweitzer said that if he makes it through the primary, Marco Rubio — who represents the “new generation of Republicans” — would pose a major threat to Hillary and the Democrats.
SCHWEITZER: Democrats win on demographics, and part of that demographic is Latinos. If a guy like Marco Rubio, who is a “new generation,” a younger guy, a guy who is a Latino, speaks Spanish fluently — He could create problems for some parts of the Democratic party. Does he get through the primary? I don’t know, but he’s the new generation of Republicans, as opposed to the old generation, which is the rest of the clown bus.
