When asked by Bill O’Reilly whether Donald Trump was “good for the Republican party,” Chris Christie responded by challenging the primary front-runner to a “robust debate” Tuesday night on Fox News.

O’REILLY: I said last night that Trump is good for the Republican Party because it brings a robust debate to the party. Right or wrong?

CHRISTIE: Let’s have a robust debate —

O’REILLY: Well am I right or am I wrong about Trump? Is he good for the GOP?

CHRISTIE: I think every one of those people on the stage is good for the GOP. You saw 10 people on that stage all who made forceful arguments, and I don’t think it’s just about Donald Trump…

O’REILLY: Well, you know the audience wouldn’t have been in there if it wasn’t for him?

CHRISTIE: I don’t know about that. I don’t know about that, Bill. This country has been very concerned. This president has been lawless, and now you’ve got his secretary of state, who in my view is ready to be criminally investigated because of what she’s done.
