Former Speaker of the House — and 2012 Republican presidential candidate — Newt Gingrich told Fox News’ Greta van Susteren Monday that, “given the stuff they’re now learning about how badly she mishandled everything,” Hillary Clinton will not win the 2016 Democratic presidential nomination.

VAN SUSTEREN: Is Secretary Clinton going to be the Democratic nominee?

GINGRICH: I don’t think so… It’s an attrition process. When you have someone that makes jokes about SnapChat when she is in fact guilty of having erased what Bob Woodward has now said is at least the equivalent of Nixon and Watergate. She doesn’t have any common sense about dealing with this stuff.

VAN SUSTEREN: Well, who steps in? Who will be the Democratic nominee? …

GINGRICH: Well, first of all, I wrote a column the other day saying that Democrats need to worry about Sanders. If he keeps running, he keeps gaining momentum, and he keeps gaining supporters, he in fact becomes genuinely formidable. And this is a party which likes Socialism… and I don’t think it’s impossible to imagine Sanders ending up as the Democratic nominee… If Hillary in fact starts to implode, you’re going to see a vacuum like you’ve not seen in many, many years… particularly given the stuff they’re now learning about how badly she mishandled everything.
