Former Chicago Bears quarterback Erik Kramer has been hospitalized after an apparent attempted suicide Wednesday night.

Authorities found Kramer in a Los Angeles hotel around 8:00 pm. His ex-wife told TMZ that Kramer had battled depression ever since retiring, “which she believes is a direct result of the hits he took during his time in the league.”

Kramer played 13 seasons in the league, his last coming in 1999. The extent of his injuries remain unknown.
