CNBC co-anchor Joe Kernen suggested “Politico should just merge with Huffington Post and get it over with. I mean that’s where they are, just admit it and go with it.”
Kernen, the host of CNBC’s “Squawk Box” on Monday pondered if Politico has an “anti-union” agenda because the site “has written like eight pieces on Scott Walker and his demise.”
Joe Kernen: Politico has written like eight pieces on Scott Walker and his demise. Have you noticed that? I get it on Twitter. And it’s been like — do you understand that? Is it an anti-union, or is it a pro-union thing from Politico? I think Politico should just merge with Huffington Post and get it over with. I mean that’s where they are. Just admit it and go with it.
Jon Harwood: I’m in sympathy with your sentiment, Joe. I think people are eager in — there’s so much political press out there. Everybody’s trying to come up with a sharp, fresh angle and so while the campaign’s going on, somebody’s struggling, they kind of want to write the obituary before the guy’s dead.
