Chris Christie Turns Himself Into A Fat Joke

Seriously. Hasn’t New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie endured enough fat jokes in his lifetime?

Oh, but what’s one more?

During the presidential debate Wednesday night, candidates were asked the dopey question of what they’d want their Secret Service code name to be.

Christie replied, “True Heart.”

According to TMZ, turns out this is the name of one of those adorably pudgy Care Bears.

Care Bear says both the bear and governor are “huggable.”

In TMZ land, this means fat.

Christie has been able to make light (pun intended) of his size. But he really draws the line at reporters who have tried to suggest that may not be not fit to govern with that girth.

During a lengthy 2011 press conference, Christie said he could handle jokes from comedians about his weight as long as they are actually funny.

“Their job is to be funny, and if one of the things they wanna make fun of is my weight then, you know, it’s fair game — I’m a public figure,” Christie said. “All I care about is that they actually are funny, you know so that I can at least laugh about it while they’re mocking me.”
