Trump Hits Back: Rebuffs Calls To Apologize For Questioner’s Comments

In the midst of a chorus of calls from Democrats, the media and some fellow Republican candidates to apologize for not calling out a questioner at a town hall meeting who said President Barack Obama was a Muslim and “not even an American,” GOP hopeful Donald Trump is having none of it. In fact, he’s hitting back at his critics.

Taking to his Twitter, Trump unambiguously told critics he is not “morally obligated to defend the president every time somebody says something bad or controversial about him.”

Turning the tables on critics, Trump asked if President Obama would defend him if someone said something “nasty or controversial” about him. “No chance,” Trump answered.
