Liberal comedian Bill Maher defended the actions of police and school administrators at MacArthur High School when student Ahmed Mohamed’s clock was mistaken for a bomb and he was detained last Monday.

Maher said Friday night on his HBO show “Real Time With Bill Maher” that some at the school thought the clock was a bomb “perhaps because it looks exactly like a fucking bomb.” (RELATED: Cops Detain High School Freshman Ahmed Mohamed After Officials Mistake His Clock For A BOMB)

Maher pushed back against criticism ,clarifying that Ahmed was ultimately owed an apology, but that there’s only one culture responsible for blowing stuff up the past 30 years.

Maher was also critical of the idea that if school staff or anybody saw something that resembled a bomb that they should remain quiet stating, “so the teacher is supposed to see something that looks like a bomb and go, oh wait, this just might be my white privilege talking. I sure don’t wanna be politically incorrect.

Other guests on the show were Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, Republican presidential candidate George Pataki, MSNBC host Chris Matthews and activist Jorge Ramos.
