Hundreds Of Women Call Planned Parenthood To Schedule Mammograms, Find Out Their Clinics Don’t Offer Them

Hundreds of women called Planned Parenthood clinics on Monday to schedule mammograms yet were turned away by the so-called women’s health group due to a simple fact: there isn’t a single Planned Parenthood clinic in America that is a licensed mammography facility.

“Schedule Your Mammogram Day” was actually a protest organized by the pro-life group “And Then There Were None” with the hopes of dispelling the common misconceptions Planned Parenthood perpetuates about the $500 million it receives a year in federal funding.

According to The Federalist, it’s not just Planned Parenthood itself that is spreading incorrect information. Just last week, Miss Tennessee Hannah Robinson argued that Planned Parenthood’s federal funding “goes to screening for cancer. It goes for mammograms. And if we don’t give that funding to Planned Parenthood, those women will be out of health care for reproductive causes.”

“As Congress considers stripping federal funds from Planned Parenthood when the budget expires on September 30th, the organization’s leaders and supporters continue to claim falsely that the so-called women’s health organization performs mammograms,” reads ATTWN’s website following the telephone protest. “It’s time for Cecile Richards to set the record straight about the true nature of Planned Parenthood. We call on Ms. Richards to make an official statement clarifying the fact that Planned Parenthood does not provide mammogram services.” (RELATED: Cecile Richards To Testify Before Congress)
