Warren Hills High School senior quarterback Evan Murray, 17, died after taking a hit to the chest in a Friday night football game in New Jersey against Summit High School.
Murray took the fatal hit in the second quarter, and tried to reassure his teammates and fans he would be okay as he was lifted onto a gurney. He was rushed to the hospital where he later died from a heart attack according to the NY Daily News. Support poured out for the Murray family including from Republican presidential candidate Chris Christie.
