There are some sports stories that will always withstand the test of time. The 1980 USA Olympics hockey team winning gold, Butler making back to back March Madness Championship games, the Miracle Mets, and now the Chicago Bears becoming the first team in over three decades to punt on every possession during an NFL game.

In fact the Bears punted so much against the Seattle Seahawks that they hurt the knee of its starting punter Pat O’Donell according to NFL reporter Rand Getlin.

When it rains it pours, and now Chicago might be without its punter after being called upon to punt ten times. According to ESPN there is no record of a team punting on every single possession going back all the way to 1980. It’s possible the timeline could go even further back.

The Bears lost to the Seahawks 26-0, and are without its starting QB Jay Cutler for the foreseeable future.
