Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has apparently struck a nerve with Spanish-language television networks, which a new study shows are devoting much more coverage to Trump than their English-language counterparts.

Top Spanish-language networks Univision and Telemundo spent more time covering Trump during a three-month span examined by the Media Research Center than the top three English-language networks combined.

Aside from former Sen. Rick Santorum, Trump is the only presidential candidate talking about limiting the flow of legal and illegal immigration. He drew ire from immigration activists when he referred to some Mexican immigrants as “rapists” and “criminals.”

Univision and Telemundo devoted a combined 304 minutes to Trump between the day of his campaign announcement speech on June 16 and the day before the second Republican presidential debate Sept. 15, while ABC, CBS and NBC devoted a combined 271 minutes to Trump over the same span.

“Since day one of his campaign, Trump has been consistently depicted on these networks as a racist and enemy of the country’s Hispanic-origin population,” reported MRC.
