Quinnipiac University poll of the swing states of Ohio, Florida and Pennsylvania shows that men are more likely than women to support marijuana legalization.

Florida and Ohio both have a majority of voters supporting the legalization of recreational marijuana, while Pennsylvania is more divided, according to the poll released Thursday.

Ohio has a ballot measure in November to legalize the sale of medical and recreational marijuana, and Florida has two proposed constitutional amendments to support recreational and medical weed in 2016.

In all three states, though, there was a vast difference between men and women, and their support for legal cannabis. In Ohio, 59 percent of men support recreational marijuana with only 38 percent opposed, while women in the same state are 49 percent are against and 47 percent in favor.

Fifty-three percent of Pennsylvania women polled oppose legalizing personal weed use, while 52 percent of men support it. The same trend is again seen in Florida with 57 percent of men in favor of legalization and 49 percent of women against.

While many support legalization in these states, 65 percent in Florida and Ohio, and 66 percent in Pennsylvania said they would “definitely not” use marijuana if legal.
