When Chuck Todd asked Bernie Sanders if he had a “short list yet for running mate,” Sanders asked Todd if wanted to be is vice president.

The exchange with Sanders, who was appearing on NBC’s “Meet The Press” Sunday, began when Todd asked Sanders, “Do you have a short list yet for running mate if you get the nomination?”

Sanders replied, “You need another job?” (Chuck Todd just began hosting a new show called MTP Daily on MSNBC weeknights at 5:00pm EST in conjunction with “Meet the Press.”)

Todd replied, “No, I’m not looking for it, no.” But Sanders interrupted, “Are you hitting me up for it?” Todd responded, “In all seriousness.”

Sanders explained, “Look, we started this campaign, I was at 3 percent in the polls, all right? Now we’re ahead in some states and we’re making progress. Before I start worrying about who my vice president will be, let me win this one.”
