Last week, we learned that Marvel Comics is using its character Sam Wilson, AKA the Falcon, AKA Captain Affirmative America, to spew dopey leftist rhetoric on illegal immigration.* But now the guy who inspired that dopey leftist response has been endorsed by the dude who plays the Falcon in the movies.
Truth really is stranger than fiction!
Looks like we might see Anthony Mackie on the campaign trail with Donald Trump. During a sit-down chat with BET.com during the promotional trail for his new film Our Brand Is Crisis, the actor showed his adoration for the controversial candidate…
“When you look at Trump, he’s an easy sell because you can sell him as the guy who worked his way up from nothing. And I think if you’re a ‘pull yourself up by your bootstraps’ candidate, people would identify with that.”
I dislike Donald Trump almost as much as I dislike the people who are trying to stop Donald Trump. And I like Anthony Mackie. And I’m not a racist. So I support Mackie’s decision to ruin his Hollywood career by endorsing a guy who’s pretending to be a Republican.
Let the backlash begin!
Mackie can fly around in the movies, but Black Twitter is shooting him down for leaving the plantation.
Gotta kill Falcon in CW RT @BET Heard it here first: Anthony Mackie endorses Donald Trump http://t.co/wW9yLeEAHp pic.twitter.com/04xV9mIXke

Ever notice how you never see Anthony Mackie and Stacey Dash in the same place at the same time?

*sees Anthony Mackie trending, clicks name* *removes Anthony Mackie from “he could get it” list* *adds him to “cute but stupid” list*

Dear Anthony Mackie, you can’t be in Spike Lee movies and endorse Donald Trump.
— Everette Taylor (@Everette) October 19, 2015
Is that last one supposed to be a bad thing? When was the last time anybody saw a Spike Lee movie?
Well, I’m sure Mackie’s publicists are frantically typing up his obsequious statement of apology right now.
Update: Even better.
Sorry Donald, that wasn’t an endorsement. Just a bad attempt at a joke, I guess?

*In all fairness, this is nothing new. Since shortly after Cap was defrosted in the ’60s, one stupid hippie after another has been typing up guilt-ridden, America-hatin’ nonsense to cram into his word balloons. The business of writing comic books doesn’t attract a lot of patriots.
