Jeopardy contestant Becky Sullivan’s clever Final Jeopardy answer is going viral. On the show Friday, Sullivan guessed “pansy” as the answer to a question about the name of a flower that is also a disparaging term for liberals.
Host Alex Trebek had some fun with her before he read her answer, saying, “I have a feeling that you may have found a way to insult liberals in this country.”
Sullivan’s answer cost her the victory and caused her second place finish, but also earned her some support from Trebek, who said “although I do like pansy,” garnering cheers from the audience when her response was read. Her opponent guessed the right answer, “bleeding heart,” and won the game.
