A Domino’s Pizza delivery driver shot an armed robber Saturday night in Jacksonville, Fla., according to CBS affiliate WJAX.

The unidentified driver reportedly was preparing to deliver a pizza when two armed men approached him, demanding that he hand over all his money. The driver responded by shooting one of the robbers as the other fled.

“This is a clear case of self-defense this person was working and was approached by two armed men,” security expert Ken Jefferson told WJAX. (RELATED: Armed Citizen Shoots And Kills Waffle House Robber)

Police told the Florida news station the suspect who was shot is currently in critical condition and was arrested for armed robbery. The second suspect, on the other hand, fled the scene. There’s no confirmation whether or not he has been captured. (RELATED: Restaurant Encourages Customers To Concealed Carry In Response To Robbery)

“He [the driver] protected himself with the weapon he had,” Jefferson said, adding pizza delivery people usually don’t even carry that much cash despite common thought.
