Did Paul Ryan Dodge A Hug From Nancy Pelosi?

Font Size:

These are the important questions, people.

“Dodge” is how Charlie Spiering at Breitbart is characterizing the moment Ryan got the gavel:

Yeah, I guess? She does sort of lean in there, and he’s just like, “Let’s keep it professional, ma’am.” Or maybe she was just being a jittery nervous wreck as usual. I’m pretty sure she can tremble so fast, she moves through solid matter like the Flash.

One thing’s for sure: Nancy finally got her hands on the gavel of office again and immediately had to give it up! That’s a welcome sight to those of us who remember this:

And it’s a damn sight better than this:

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) (L) hands Speaker of the House John Boehner (R-OH) the speaker's gavel during the first session of the 114th Congress in the House Chambers January 6, 2015 in Washington, DC. (Photo: Mark Wilson/Getty Images)

I know not everybody is sold on Ryan as Speaker of the House, and I’m reserving judgment one way or the other, but this is a good first step. Slow it down there, Palomino.
