An Ohio man that was too drunk to drive, but in desperate need of some barbecue sauce, came up with a unique solution to his problem. He found a 9-year-old child to drive him to store.
Cory D. Mathias had the unnamed child drive him to The Pit Stop, a local store, but employees refused to allow the boy to drive Mathias back home, according to Inside Edition.
As Mathias drove himself home, the employees of The Pit Stop called police who were able to track down Mathias. The man refused to take a breathalyzer test, but was eventually found to have a blood alcohol content several times higher than the legal limit. Mathias is now facing a litany of charges including child endangering, operating a vehicle while intoxicated, refusing a chemical breath test and driving under suspension. Police indicated that the man had the young boy over for a chicken dinner before the joyride, but the boy’s parents were not aware that Mathias was drunk.
