Carly Fiorina blasted the Trans-Pacific Partnership insisting it is a “trap door” for the international global warming agenda.

Appearing on The Laura Ingraham Show on Tuesday, Fiorina said that “trade agreements are far better when negotiated bilaterally as opposed to multilaterally” and “it makes no sense to lock this country into a multilateral agreement negotiated over years in secret that have trap doors.”

Ingraham likened the TPP to a “shiny, cool thing that the elites like” so that they are able to “bow down at the alter of the global warming debate. They don’t really want to have the people understand what’s in this Trans-Pacific Partnership.”

Ingraham then quoted Chapter 20 to the TPP, which “requires compliance with previous multilateral environmental agreements that have been negotiated.” It also states that “required compliance” will be “part of the overall agreement, even if Congress doesn’t vote on it as an overall treaty.”

Fiorina insisted, “It’s an example of why these extremely complicated, multiparty agreements are not in our interest because buried in the 5000 pages, negotiated with twelve other countries are trap doors. That’s a trap door if ever there was one. It does not serve our interest.”

Ingraham then suggested, “In the end, both trade deals and any type of treaties negotiated should be based in how the affect the average American, comply with our Constitution.”

“And what would you say to Congress as they are considering this and perhaps trying to push it off to a lame duck vote, Carly after the Presidential election,” Ingraham asked. “What do you say to the Republican and Democrat members of Congress?”

Fiorina responded, saying, “First, trade agreements are far better when negotiated bilaterally as opposed to multilaterally. Secondly, it makes no sense to lock this country into a multilateral agreement negotiated over years in secret that have trap doors such as you just described, so man up, stand up, and either vote and be prepared to be held accountable or vote this thing down. It is a little bit like the continuing resolution, let’s push all this off to the next president. It’s why people have lost faith in their leaders honestly Laura.”
