A U.S. soldier shot a would-be thief Friday after the bandit tried to stab him in a Colorado hotel.
The unnamed soldier saw a man in the hallway at Hotel Elegante in Colorado Springs on Monday claiming to be checking the plumbing, but the soldier had an uneasy feeling, according to ABC affiliate KSHB.
The suspect pulled a knife on the soldier after he allowed the man to enter the room under the pretense of checking the plumbing. The soldier responded by getting his gun and shooting the man. (RELATED: Texan Shoots And Kills Home Invader [VIDEO])
“The man’s act was convincing and the guest allowed him into the room, after he put his dogs away. The suspicious man entered the room, pulled his hoodie over his head, and displayed a knife,” a police official explained. (RELATED: Thug Shot And Killed During Attempted Robbery)
He also added that the man “was not an employee of the hotel” and his plumbing getup was a complete ruse.
The suspect was arrested and charged with suspicion of burglary among other charges.
