Washington Redskins wide receiver DeSean Jackson might have had the dumbest play in the history of Monday Night Football against the Dallas Cowboys.

With the game tied 9-9 on Monday, Jackson was set to receive a very simple punt. Instead of just calling for a fair catch or accepting the short gain, he opted to run for a massive loss and fumbled the ball in a miserably illegal forward lateral attempt that was recovered by the Cowboys.

Jackson’s boneheaded decision would have been very dumb if it happened in the first half, but because it happened with under two minutes remaining in a tied game against a divisional opponent, the stakes were drastically raised. Plus, add in the fact the Cowboys went on to win the game, there’s no doubt that Jackson’s failed lateral resulting in a recovered fumble for the Cowboys, is one of the most embarrassing and worst plays ever.
