Dan Hamhuis of the Vancouver Canucks took an absolutely brutal shot to the face during a Wednesday night game against the New York Rangers.
Hamhuis turned the puck over in front of his own net resulting in a slap shot fired by Rangers player Dan Boyle. The shot rocked Hamhuis in the face and resulted in blood pouring out. (RELATED: Watch This Hockey Player Get His Throat Slashed Open [VIDEO])

Luckily the refs, medics and his teammates acted quickly to get Hamhuis off of the ice and rushed to the hospital. (RELATED: NHL Ref Tells Player ‘F*ck You’ [VIDEO])
It also appears that while Hamhuis suffered some serious injuries, it is unlikely that the injuries are career ending.
